What We Do

Everyday Life Skills Tool

About the tool

A tool for workers who support young people aged 15–24 as they prepare for independent living. It helps workers assess a young person's skills and set goals for independence.

Who can use it:

Leaving care services (Better Futures), schools, youth services, housing and community organisations that work with young people.

What it does:

  • Assess a young person's strengths and skill gaps
  • Show results immediately after the assessment
  • Use the results to build a learning plan with the young person

Works with our resources:

The tool links to our free Everyday Life Skills Resources. Young people can read the guides on their own, at any time.
