Support For a Voice To Parliament
Wombat Housing Support Services supports enshrining a First Nations Voice into the Constitution. Wombat recognises Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the first sovereign Nations of the Australian continent and that this sovereignty was never ceded. As part of our Reconciliation Action Plan, Wombat seeks to ensure we uplift, support, learn from, and recognise the history of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and peoples. Wombat is committed to advocating for and working towards social justice alongside all First Nations peoples.
We also acknowledge that people connected with Wombat have diverse opinions about the referendum. We encourage people to access accurate and impartial information to become informed on the referendum and have a conversation with others about this important moment for Australia’s future.
