Youth Homelessness & Early Intervention Support

The Maribyrnong Youth Accommodation Program (MYAP)

MYAP provides case management support to young people aged between 16-25 in the inner west region of Melbourne who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The program has a focus on culturally and linguistically diverse young people.

What we offer:

  • Housing Information: Guidance, information and advocacy on private rentals, public/community housing, student accommodation, share options.
  • Securing Long-Term Accommodation: Assistance with finding stable housing, including family reunification support.
  • Overcoming Barriers: Assistance to address the barriers that may prevent access to long term accommodation.
  • Independent Living Skills: Assistance to help develop the skills needed by young people to manage independent living.
  • Specialist Referrals: Connecting you to appropriate services for wrap around support.
  • Cultural and Linguistic Services: Links to culturally and linguistically appropriate services when required.

Eligibility:

  • Age: Young people aged 16 to 25 years including young parents aged and their children.
  • Homeless or At Risk: Young people who are experiencing homelessness or in temporary accommodation, struggling to maintain current housing.
  • Participation Willingness: Commitment to regular support meetings.
  • Independent Income: Must have a source of independent income
  • Ability to Live Independently: Able to manage independent living.
  • Service Area: Willing to receive support in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
