Housing Readiness for Young People (HRYP)
The Housing Readiness for Young People (HRYP) project at Wombat explores how young people (aged 15 to 18 years) and living in ‘out of home care’ can be helped to maximise opportunities to successfully transition from care with stable, safe accommodation and thus avoid homelessness.
In 2016 the Housing Readiness for Young People (HRYP) project at Wombat was funded for a second year by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services in Western Melbourne, Brimbank and Melton. Along with our partner agencies we have developed the HRYP Practice Guide and A+B+C Resources, as well as providing training in their use.
These innovative and exciting resources will assist carers and the young people with whom they work to map their emotional and physical development and the supports they will need to ensure their optimum transition to adulthood.
