Wombat Housing and Support Services provides a free service to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless in the West of Melbourne.
Wombat has programs for young people, families, single adults and people in public housing. Wombat also delivers SHASP (Social Housing Advocacy and Support Program) for people in public housing in the west.
Services provided through our programs include support services and case management. Wombat is based in North Melbourne with much of its work is delivered through an outreach model.
Wombat has a voluntary Board of Management that sets its strategic direction, a paid staffing group delivering its services, a General Manager overseeing programs and an Executive Officer responsible for the operation of the organisation.
Wombat is a not for profit community based organisation that is an incorporated association registered in Victoria. Wombat is a Public Benevolent Institution and therefore monetary donations to Wombat are tax deductible.
Wombat also runs the Secretariat for the North and West Homelessness Network.
